Air Jordan 4 Rasta

Release Date: 16th April, 2020

Retail Price: $190

Now you might be wondering what Rasta even means? In Urdu it means “way”. Now either Nike is appealing to the South East Asian Crowd or I’m wrong. The probability is that I’m wrong because the drop of the shoe acts as a celebration of the Jamaican Carnival.

Rasta is a short form of Rastafarianism i.e. an Abrahamic religion which was formed in Jamaica during the 1930’s. I don’t know what Nike has to do with it, but damn it sounds cool.

Air Jordan 4 is dressed in a White, University Red, Lucid Green, and Black color scheme. The sneaker features a white tumbled leather upper with Rasta colors across the netting. The classic Jumpman logo appears on the tongue and the heel of the sneaker.

Where to buy?

Unfortunately, since the shoe hasn’t been released anywhere, you’re just going to have to wait. However, I’ll be linking to a few places where you can possibly cop it once you get nearer to the drop date.

StockX – Now this is the obvious choice for most buyers but unfortunately since it’s a reseller’s website, you’ll have to pay the resale premium. Moreover, since StockX takes almost 10% from the seller, the seller usually charges you more than the market resale value to make sure his profits stay high.

Ebay – The OG marketplace is making moves to be the leading sneaker reselling marketplace. Since it has removed the 10% seller’s fee, this means that you’re likely to find a bunch of sellers on here for relatively lower prices. Read our latest article on why Ebay could be the leading marketplace in 2020 for sneaker reselling.

SNKRS – The official Nike’s website will be your best friend during this lockdown season. Since all the retail shops are closed, you will be able to purchase the shoe here. However, SNKRS has a reputation of selling out drops faster than you can say “resale”. Therefore, don’t forget to read out guide to sneaker botting.

Resale Value

Now comes the most important aspect of this entire article. Will you or will you not be able to make any money off of this?

Well let us take a look at the potential resale value of the Air Jordan 4 Rasta.

Since this is a Women’s exclusive drop, I’m relatively more skeptic of the resale value. The reason behind it is because the resale community largely comprises of Men and thus the Women exclusive drops do not fare as well here.

The Air Jordan 4 Rasta will be dropping for $190 and to be honest, I don’t really see it making you that much profit. At most the resale value can travel up to $220 but that is it. A $30 resale premium is not what we’re in this game for.

Plus, the effort you’ll have to put in to cop this shoe during quarantine is not worth the resale value. Therefore, in my humble opinion, you will want to pass on this shoe.

But don’t be disheartened as there are plenty of opportunities within the coming weeks for you to wet your beak in the billion-dollar sneaker resale industry.

However, this is only my analysis and I could be wrong. StockX and the other reselling websites so far haven’t listed the Air Jordan 4 Rasta and therefore the market perception hasn’t been entirely revealed.

So take my advice with a grain of salt. Nothing is set in stone.

TL: DR

Release Date: 16th April, 2020

Retail Price: $190

Retail Points: Ebay, StockX, SNKRS, Nike Website

Resale Value: $220 maximum

Well there you have it folks, that is all for today. If you couldn’t manage to read our analysis, then here’s a quick conclusion.

The Air Jordan 4 Rasta are not worth the cop. They do not have a high resale value and that is because they’re a women’s exclusive whilst the sneaker industry largely constitutes of men. Therefore, at a retail price of $190, the resale value at most could be $220.
