What’s up SFS readers? I hope everyone is doing well today and staying properly social distanced. Now grab a snack and your favorite beverage while we discuss some fire sneakers – the Asics Gel Lyte 3 Monozukuri Pack.

Look for these to hit the Asics webstore and select stockists this Friday, on April 17th.

As always, stick around to see why we’re the best place to get info on newly releasing shoes and how to resell them. Even if you’re new to the game, check out more of our valuable content that talks about the opportunity to start a self made business and cash in.

If you’re not interested in a history of the sneaker or details, feel free to skip to the end of the post to get more of the valuable release info and site list.

Now for all you history and backstory enthusiasts, let’s talk about the inspiration. Directly translated, Monozukuri means the ‘making of things’, but the term actually encapsulates more than that, also able to describe Japan’s renowned devotion to quality craftsmanship. ASICS’ latest GEL-Lyte III duo is an ode to this intrinsic part of Japan’s culture, highlighting the iconic silhouette with simple colours and premium construction.

The two color ways you’re seeing are known as ‘Ivory’ and ‘Smokey Blue’. These GL3s have a familiar combination of mesh, suede and leather that doesn’t divert from the model’s well-trod route – and that’s a good thing.

The signature split tongue, branding, premium materials and other mainstays will leave you satisfied on this pair of kicks. Once quarantine is over, these will be perfect on feet.

Whether you’re looking to expand your retro runner collection or get your hands on your first pair, this upcoming drop is a great cornerstone for anyone–particularly if you’re interested in the growing multi billion dollar sneaker pie.

More from Asics – Past and Present

Asics in 2020 will have quite a run, you’re hearing it from me first. With the Monozukuri Pack batting leadoff, there’s some heavy hitters to follow.

Comme des Garcons will be getting their release day on the Gel Lyte 3 before we know it. This unique camo pattern is a neck breaker to say the least.

Another immensely exciting Gel Lyte 3 is the one to be releasing in collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon – vintage and corduroy mastermind responsible for the Nike 1/97 Air Max. To add to his catalog and fit his brand, there’s a DIY, velcro and distressing theme on this corduroy version.

I’d be remiss to not talk about the undisputed GOAT of the entire Gel Lyte line and that’s Ronnie Fieg with KITH. With too many hits to name that still go for a pretty penny on StockX, I’ll just leave this “What The” Gel Lyte 3 here – a combination of his more popular GL3 colorways.

Resale Anticipation

The good thing about this release is you have double the opportunity to get your hands on a pair of these GL3’S. Like we mentioned above, the blue and beige pairs are releasing at the same time. The blue may have more popularity.

While Asics might not be the most coveted sneaker brand in the market right now, we still believe these pairs will make a little noise on the secondary market.

I believe this a win for everyone, big fans can most likely get their hands on these without a bot, and folks on the secondary market won’t pay an arm and a leg.

While it may not sell out instantly like an anticipated SNKRS drop, I believe they won’t be around for a super long time. I can’t imagine many people having buyer’s remorse once they get these in hand. Even if that a possibility, there should be no problem getting your money back or more using your favorite reselling platform or methodology.

With a reasonable retail price tag like this, it sure makes it more appealing for buyers who missed out to shell out some cash over retail but still not break the bank.

When a sneaker is retailed $200 or more, that extra $40-$50 on resale can be disheartening. But in this case, consumers won’t feel as big a hole in their PayPal and might have a good incentive to pick up a pair.

Potential resale profit indicates anywhere from $30 to $100.

If you’re new to reselling, this blog has everything you need and more, including the Hypemaster Playbook that is an all-in-one package to begin sneaker reselling.

We’re all staying at home and probably not wearing sneakers as much as we’d like but that doesn’t mean you can’t do some more reading on them. Here’s a cool piece about the resale prices during our lockdown – stay tuned for more releases coming up this April. I’ll be back soon to cover more releases.
