During the 1970s, the right to the sneakers were bought by Converse. Converse likely took inspiration from the jack Purcell sneaker when creating the iconic ‘Chuck Taylor’.
Later on, the Jack Purcell was turned into a skateboarding shoe in 2017 after a collaboration with Polar Skate Co. Later on, Jack Purcell went on to become a stock broker however, his sneaker legacy lives on.

Feng Chen Wang is a London based menswear designer that grew up in China during the clamorous times of the one child policy law.
As she grew up with a family size over the limit. Her mother had to hide her pregnancy from officials and sometimes even strangers. Wang’s mother would often submerge herself in the river to avoid getting caught.
These moments are often reflected onto Wang’s works through various drawings and designs. Wang said in an interview with i-d.vice that “I collate my personal experiences in my work”. You could argue that a piece of her memory goes into a lot of her work pieces.
Although not wanting to be a designer during her early years, her artistic prowess made it a crime for her to do anything else. Soon after graduation, Wang started what she was always destined to do. Design.
Her achievements include being an addition to MAN and having earned the attention of the likes of TOPMAN and Fashion East.
In 2019, Feng Chen Wang debuted her collaboration with Converse at Shanghai Fashion Week. The pair have made a few revered sneakers in the past, both with high and low resale values.

This high-top converse sneaker rocks a pretty unique design. It features a beechnut upper with thick black laces for some nice contrast. The mid-foot and toe box region as well as the sole are all blacked-out.
It’s Cool looking shoe but pretty dead resale. The average selling price is just $78 and I don’t need to do the math for you to know that re-sellers mostly lose money by selling these. At peak prices however, gross profit is $25 which is still quite low.

This eye catching metallic silver sneaker came in women’s exclusive sizing. It rocks a smoothed out Sleet upper with grey underlay and a thick white sole. Apart from the usual ‘Converse’ branding you can find “Girl Power” engraved on the later side.
Although they look great, resale is pretty low. They’ve been sold for a maximum $100 on StockX while the average reselling price is even lower. There’s also a very low number of overall sales so the low resale may be due to lack of hype.

This is perhaps the best example to use when estimating resale for the Feng Chen Wang Converse Jack Purcell.
The sneaker features a monochromatic white and grey upper made of full grain leather. An OrthoLite insole and a thick white sole finishes off the design.
The market for these is also quite unsubstantial but sneakers have been sold for as high as $255. That’s a $155 gross profit.

Feng Chen Wang and Converse are back with another super unique couple of sneakers.
The first colorway, known as ‘Sea Salt’ comes dressed in a white upper and grey underlay. White laces, a white sole and, white toe box complete the design. The second comes with a black upper while a white toe box and sole finish off the design.
Both sneakers are constructed with a mixture of sued and leather. The upper is designed with a multi layered style that may appeal to many. A few subtle details include “王逢陈” which is writing in Mandarin that spells the designers name.

Although a lot of the sneakers from the duo have not sold well on the secondary market. This one might actually see some profits. That’s mostly because they look pretty good, similar to the Feng Chen Wang Converse Chuck Taylor white.
To get your money back after a standard US tax rate and service fee, you’ll need to sell them for at least $155. Hus by using my estimated resell value, expect profits of around $25 on SockX.
