Things have been heating up this summer!

234583037p1">To finish off the highly profitable month of June, another hot color-way of the OG Jordan 1 will be releasing called the “Gym Red” Jordan 1.

The iconic shoe was designed by Peter Moore and originally released in 1985-1986. The Jordan 1 has become the go to shoe in today’s time, with plenty of drops in the past year  that were quite lucrative for resellers, like the $500-800+ profit per pair Travis Scott 1’s and Union LA Retro 1’s.

This time around, the Air Jordan 1 features a has red swoosh splashed on an all white leather upper, with black and red accents throughout the peripheral and Swoosh logos. A predominantly black and red color scheme make for a classic Jordan, very similar to Chicagos which has many OG fans hyped about this drop.

It’s these fans that contribute to this massive billion dollar sneaker aftermarket that is minting new and often young self made resellers every day.

Nike’s official description of the colorway is Black, White, Sail, and Gym Red color scheme ( Official Nike Style Code: 555088-061.)

Let’s take a look at the release date, resale price, and finally–how to buy (with links) this Gym Red 1 in 2019.

Release Date: Air Jordan 1 “Gym Red”

The AJ 1 “Gym Red” will be releasing on Saturday, June 29th 2019.

Most retailers will have its time slated at 10:00AM EST, which is the standard time for many online Jordan retailers, including the SNKRS app and Nike drops.

Because this drop is on a Saturday, more people will be going after it than if it were on a weekday as nearly everyone is off work/school this day.

Resale Price for the 2019 Gym Red

Early resale values for the Gym Red Jordan 1’s had the price well above retail, at up to $400 per pair.

Some preorders on eBay still going for nearly $400.

However, as with all markets, reselling these Jordans is all about having impeccable timing and understanding, and this time, the movement was south.

At the time of this writing just days before the release, prices have since dropped to roughly $30 over retail on average for larger sizes, which after platform fees and shipping will result in $0 profit–which is why it didn’t make our list this month for the top shoes to resell.

There is still a price range of $180-$300, which means a potential profit of up to $100 to those who have the right buyers.

It appears the best sizes right now are smaller ones, between 6 and 8 US Men’s.

Amazingly, as seen in the picture above, for size 6 and 16, there are ask prices of $600+: let’s see if these actually sell.

Either way, these kicks are definitely worth buying, which won’t be an easy feat, which is why we’ll give you a couple tips here.

When seen on feet, the Gym Red 1’s have a shiny appearance compared to other 1’s that have more of a rustic pebbly leather look–this might make some people excited, while it’s a let down for others who think it makes them look cheap.

Whichever side you’re on, it’s still worth learning how to get these at retail to avoid the sometimes high resale prices.

How to Buy: Nike Air Jordan 1 “Gym Red” in 2019

With a standard Retro 1 retail price of $160, these are among the more affordable Jordans, so they often have a higher number of interested buyers going after them.

Despite the low to none resale value, there is still a huge chance you’ll miss out on these at retail.

Maybe it’s bots to blame…but there’s still a strong manual crew out there catching W’s.

In addition to Nike.com, these are set to release on the SNKRS app.

We’re also expecting the big names like Foot Locker, Finish Line, and Champs to have the Gym Reds in semi-limited quantities (each of those links for those sites go directly to the Air Jordan 1 page, which will save you at least 1 click in getting them.)

For more chances at copping, check out all retailers, including those like Hibbet Sports.

If you happen to miss out on this drop, you’ll also be able to find these at StockX and GOAT for resale prices. Fans of the Jordan 1’s will likely be adding these to their collection, even if it’s for resale prices, as right now they are quite reasonable.

It can be hard to predict whether or not a shoe will have resale value, which is why we aim to demystify that for our readers and offer assistance in our private cook group (email alex@sneakerflipperscom for availability info).
