Let’s get started.

A Closer Look

The Drew League is one of basketball’s most renowned traditions as some of the best players in the world compete against one another. Whether NBA, college, or even streetball, The Drew League has formed into an enormous event that draws national attention to Southern California. Kobe Bryant. KD. Baron Davis. Brandon Jennings. DeMar DeRozan. Just a few names who have made their appearances at The Drew.

The upcoming Nike Air Force 1 “Drew League” is an ode to the heritage and legacy of the completion by coming together on a timeless silhouette we’re all familiar with. Subtle reminders are key as the white-on-white AF1 features the classic Drew League script on the tongue as well as on the exterior heel and the insoles.

Another nuance I personally enjoy on this pair is the whited-out lace dubraes. I think this is a perfect touch outside of the normal chrome. All in all, we can’t complain about another pair of uptowns on the market. Just keep em crispy and clean like Nelly says.

Similar Themes in AF1s

Nike has been known to render Air Force 1s comparable to this Drew League iteration we’re looking at today. With a timeless silhouette like this, it’s only right to keep the design and art minimal – even on something limited.

Streetwear giant Supreme has been no stranger to collabs on Air Force 1s. Just this S/S 20 season we were introduced to this AF1 Low for $96. Now they’re reselling at about a 150% price premium (over original retail price). That’s not a bad investment!

Another big hit that comes to mind in terms of simplicity is the Rocafella AF1 Low from 2017. These clocked in at $150 but again are selling on the secondary market for close to a 150% price premium.

Last on this short list is the Comme des Garcons AF1 Lows that released in 2017. These have climbed in value and seeing recent sales in the $800 range when their retail was $228. Amazing!

Resale Anticipation

As of now it’s tough to make a prediction on what the Drew League AF1s will do. If we were to guess the stock numbers would be somewhat low, especially as it relates to the league’s legendary status.

But the aforementioned AF1 relatives could be a trend this Drew League could follow. All signs are pointed towards an exclusive release followed by a skyrocket in resale prices. This will most likely be a hot pair to go after and could even slide off the radar for some with all the releases happening. Especially with such a traditionally low retail price, these can only go up.

Release Info and Conclusion

RELEASE DATE: Saturday June 6th, 2020
RETAIL PRICE: $TBD
AVERAGE RESALE VALUE: $TBD
RETAIL POINTS: Nike.com

Right now the shoes are suspect to be on the Nike webstore only. There could be a potential SNKRS release but it’s not on the updated calendar at the moment. A standard AF1 is priced at a measly $90. All indications would have these weighing in at $100 to $140 or so. Stay locked in at SFS for updates.

After the release be sure to check up on the usual suspects for the secondary market – StockX, Goat, Grailed, eBay, and Reddit.
