To give you a better idea of the sneaker resale market and its trends, we are debuting weekly recap articles.

Let us know what you think!

We’ll begin this weekly market recap by taking a look at some of the hottest kicks that dropped this week!

First up, the Jordan 1 Low White University Red Black

The lifestyle-oriented Air Jordan 1 Low continues to emerge in impressive colorways rooted in the high-top model’s performance-basketball legacy.

Case in point: a tri-colored arrangement reminiscent of the Chicago Bulls’ home jersey palette.

“White” smooth leather sets the stage for the silhouette’s signature design details throughout the upper. Tumbled leather profile Swooshes and collar lining break up the low-top Jordan 1‘s clean arrangement with their “Black” makeup.

Collar padding, tongue lining, and complimentary branding across the throat and heel indulge in a rich “University Red” synonymous with some of the most iconic Jordans‘ launch colorways.

Underfoot, outsoles follow suit in the scarlet hue, resembling those on pairs from ’85.

A common theme for this week’s installment of the market recap is Jordans. We’ll cover two Jordan 1 lows and one Jordan 1 high. As we’ll talk about later, the future of the Jordan is evolving.

In terms of this sneaker, the resell market hasn’t shown much of anything. There have been no sales on StockX but there have been asks of $300+.

This shoe released on September 1 with a retail of $90. I’m personally very surprised that there has not been a market for this sneaker yet.

With classic Jordan colorways, it’s a little disturbing that this sneaker has not had one sale on StockX.

Next up, the Nike SB Dunk Low J-Pack Chicago.

The latest Nike SB Dunk J-Pack Chicago keeps Jordan Brand’s relationship with skateboarding strong. For those that don’t know, before the plethora of options for proper skateboarding footwear, skaters in the 80s, and 90s preferred boarding in Air Jordan 1s.

The sneaker’s high top construction provided the proper amount of ankle support needed to bare various skateboarding tricks.

The recent addition to the Nike SB Dunk J-Pack pays homage to Air Jordan 1’s involvement with early skate culture.

This Nike SB Dunk Low J-Pack Chicago has something that both Jordan and SB heads will enjoy.

The classic SB Dunk Low silhouette is dressed in a Chicago Jordan 1 red, white, and black leather colorway. From there, a fat tongue and oval laces introduce the skateboarding aspect of the sneaker.

The notable difference between the Nike SB Dunk Low J-Pack Chicago and the Jordan 1 Low White University Red Black is the resell.

The Nike SB Dunk Low J-Pack Chicago has 50+ sales on the StockX Marketplace and a price premium of 586.3% leaving an average resale price of $684.

Keep in mind the retail price of this sneaker was $95. This would leave a $500+ profit if you were able to get your hands on a pair. That is absolutely crazy!

And finally, the Jordan 1 Retro High Tokyo Bio Hack.

While this release is not an official collaboration between the two brands, the Jordan 1 “Bio Hack” draws heavily from the Nike SB Dunk High “Undefeated.”

Nike SB used bold color combinations and mixes of premium materials to create this instant classic.

Due to the limited nature of the release, many sneakerheads were unable to grab a pair in 2005. That’s where Jordan Brand comes in.

The Air Jordan 1 “Bio Hack” shares many similarities with the “Undefeated” Dunk, namely the color-blocking. The premium suede upper features a “Baroque Brown” heel counter and ankle collar, black side panels, a navy blue mudguard, and a light blue toebox.

The sneaker also boasts a bright orange tongue, a “Racer Pink” sock liner, and “Metallic Silver” Nike Swooshes. The sneaker is rounded out by a mint green midsole, and a black outsole.

The Nike SB hype is arguably more palpable now than it ever has been. This is partly due to larger-than-life personalities like Travis Scott bringing old SB Dunks back from the grave, and introducing them to the younger generations.

In August, we saw the release of the Air Jordan 1 Zoom “Zen Green,” which paid homage to the Nike SB Dunk High “Brut.” This month we have the Air Jordan 1 “Bio Hack.” It seems that Jordan Brand is firmly on the path of re-crafting iconic Nike SB colorways into Air Jordan 1 colorways.

The resell market on this pair has done well but a little less than expected. With over 600 sales, the sneaker has racked up a price premium of 72.4%.

With a $170 retail, that leaves a $299 average resale price. Still, if you were able to purchase a pair – you’d be in for a decent payday.

Overall this week proved to be a profitable one.

If you copped a pair of the Nike SB Dunk Low J-Pack Chicago you are definitely in for some massive profits.

This week was geared towards Jordans and OG Jordan colors. That is a driving reason for this week’s successful drops in terms of profits.

People are attracted to those OG colorways as they remind them of the Michael Jordan days. The days when one man ruled all of the NBA and streetwear culture.

As we’ve talked about before, Jordan 1 Lows (SB Dunk lows included) have been picking up a lot of hype recently.

It will be super interesting to see how these lower topped sneakers will evolve as the sneaker community continues to change and grow.
