This Weekly Sneaker Release/Resale Recap, We Review a Few Nike SB Dunks, Some Air Jordans, and A Hyped New Kobe Collaboration

Starting from the 10th to the 16th of May, Nike brought the heat with an array of hyped releases including some very exciting new collaborations. Stay tuned as we recap all the drops that were hot this past week!

Although the week before wasn’t a great one when it comes to profitable releases, this past week however sure does make up for it!

Stingwater x Nike SB Dunk Low “Magic Mushroom”

Colorway: University Red/White

This very special Nike SB Dunk Low is a collaboration with Daniel Kim’s Stingwater. A skateboarding and fashion apparel boutique that was established in 2016.

These sneakers feature an upper that’s inspired by the “Fly Mushroom” with a red background and white spots all over the overlays. Red leather underlays are contrasted by white throats, laces, and tongues with “VERY SPESIAL” texts.

Mushroom grill-inspired sock liners and ice-blue translucent soles with texts that nod at Stingwater finish off the design.

On StockX, the average selling price is $360 which is a gross profit of $235 per pair. They’ve even been sold for as high as $1,400!

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Miami Nights

Average Resell: $260

Release Date: 05/05/2021

Colorway: White/Solar Red-Glass Blue-White

Inspired by 2011’s iconic LeBron 8, the Nike LeBron 8 V2 Miami Nights features a similar colorway with a mesh and tumbled leather construction.

Side panels feature a speckled tie-dye color with a stark separation by the white tumbled leather eye stays. Black tongues feature teal-colored highlights that also appear around the white Swooshes.

Red soles with exposed Air Units finish off the design.

On reseller’s websites, the average selling price is around $260, giving off gross profits of around $80 to resellers.

AIR JORDAN 1 AJKO CHICAGO 2021

Colorway: WHITE/RED/BLACK

Debuted in 1986, the Air Jordan 1 AJKO returned quite a few times ever since and has seen decent success on both the primary and secondary markets.

The highlight of this model is the materials that completely swap out the leather for a canvas material. This Air Jordan 1 in particular features typical “Chicago” color tones.

The white side panels, toe boxes, throats, and tongues are contrasted by red “Nike” branding on the tongues, black lateral Swooshes, and red canvas overlays. Sail midsoles and red outsoles complete the design.

The average selling price on the secondary market is $260 which is over $100 in gross profits. That’s a decent investment and you could have made good money especially had you sold the at peak resale prices of over $500.

Slam Jam x New Balance 991

Colorway: BLACK/GREY-SILVER

Following Slam Jam and New Balance’s collaboration in 2020 with just under 100 pairs released, the duo decided to do a wider release for the Made in England 991.

These kicks feature a multi-material upper consisting of earthy mesh, suede, and leather. White tongues feature “new balance” and “991” branding while white/grey midsoles and dark outsoles finish off the design.

The average selling price of these sneakers is currently hovering around a decent $350. They’ve even been sold for as high as $600. Although these are relatively good numbers, it doesn’t hold a candle to 2020’s Slam Jam 990V3.

Air Jordan 5 Low Wings Class Of 2020-2021

Retail Price: $190

Average Resell: $260

Release Date: May 14th/2021

Colorway: BLACK/METALLIC GOLD

Jordan Brand’s Wings program celebrates the graduating classes of 2020-2021 with this special edition Air Jordan 5 Low.

This low-top AJV features a black tumbled leather upper that appears particularly on the scuff-guards, eye stays, and rear panels. The toe boxes feature a dark grey material that matches the grey plastic eyelet and mesh side panels.

Gold “20” and “21” are featured onto the lateral heels while black midsoles embellished with golden flames and semi-translucent outsoles complete the design.

On the secondary market, the average selling price for these sneakers is $260. Although that’s not very high, at peak resale, resellers have made gross profits of over $200.

Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer Pink

Average Resell: $250

Release Date: May 14th/2021

Colorway: Pink

Adding to the expanding collection of Jaden Smith x NB sneakers, the duo added Greenhouse to the mix to deliver a brand new “Pink” Vision Racer.

The sneakers feature an overall pink upper constructed with vegan-friendly and recycled materials.

Grey “N” logos with pink borders provide the only contrast while speckled pink midsoles and translucent outsoles with “Do You See It Yet” graphics and an embossed “NB” logo completes the look.

Resellers have been selling these for gross profits of around $100 per pair. That’s quite decent for a Vision Racer.

AIR JORDAN 1 RETRO HIGH OG SHADOW 2.0

Colorway: Black/Light Smoke Grey-White

The Air Jordan 1 High Shadow 2.0 is one of the most hyped sneakers of May and was released just 2 days ago.

Staying mostly true to the originals, these Jordan 1s feature black leather underlays that cover the side panels, toe boxes, throats, and tongues. Meanwhile, grey leather covers the scuff-guards, eye stays, and heels.

White midsoles and black outsoles complete this iconic look.

The average selling price on StockX is $280 which is a gross profit of over $100. Although we expected higher, those are still decent numbers.

NIKE SB DUNK HIGH TV SIGNAL

Colorway: Black/Multi

This SB Dunk High’s inspiration comes from a peculiar source. As the sobriquet suggests, these Dunks don patterns reminiscent of TV static.

Clean white underlays provide a good base and appear on the toe boxes, throats, and up onto the tongues with black “Nike SB” branding. Overlays, on the other hand, provide contrast by featuring dark suede with matching laces.

Multi-colored static patterns embellish the side panels and the insoles that also feature additional branding.

Black leather Swooshes, black outsoles, and crisp white midsoles finish off the design.

The average selling price on the secondary market is currently $220 which is just over $100 in gross profits.

Undefeated x Nike Kobe 5 Hall Of Fame

Colorway: METALLIC GOLD/FIELD PURPLE-MULTI-COLOR

Finishing off the week with a bang, Nike and luxury fashion boutique “Undefeated” released a brand new Kobe 5 to commemorate Kobe Bryant’s induction into the hall of fame.

The Undefeated x Nike Kobe 5 Hall Of Fame features a metallic gold upper with crimson side swooshes and golden laces. Black tongues with Kobe’s signature logo embossed in purple match the interiors and sock liners.

Golden midsoles that gradually transform into a dark purple hue finish off the look.

These kicks have been sold for as high as $1,370 but have settled around a still decent $475! Thus finishing off the week on a high note.
