PSG and Jordan Brand have been releasing apparel and sneakers since their partnership in 2018. The sneakers in particular have proven to be good investments for resellers in most cases. However, that’s not true for all of them and resellers need to be careful.

Before we estimate the resale value of the PSG Air Jordan 7. Let me walk you through some history!

Air Jordan 7 | Background

air jordan 7 history michael jordan

Michael Jordan’s 7th signature sneaker was also designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. A designer that used to be Nike’s corporate architect but found even more success designing shoes instead of buildings.

The Jordan 7 was released in 1992, an important time for Jordan Brand as they struggled to establish their very own identity. To help push that objective forward, Hatfield left the upper completely devoid of any Nike branding.

This helped Jordan Brand establish a degree of independence which would ultimately lead to the Jump-Man becoming an independent subsidiary in 1997.

Design-wise, the Air Jordan 7 is inspired by the Nike Air Huarache. Another classic silhouette with its own cult following.

The Huarache neoprene bootie is what caught Hatfield’s eye, a technology that was arguably ahead of its time. Thus that same neoprene was placed into the AJ7 for a more comfortable and lightweight feel.

These sneakers also feature African Tribal patterns. Something Tinker Hatfield took a liking to and decided to implement on his latest sneaker design.

This silhouette has been a part of various important events for MJ himself.

From his famous six first-half three-pointers in the 1992 NBA finals to the beginning of the 1992-1993 Season, Michael Jordan was wearing the Air Jordan 7.

Although this sneaker hasn’t received a ton of love from Nike in terms of collaborations (or releases in general). The latest partnership with PSG may be indicative of a change in Jordan Brand’s plans for the AJ7.

From UNISWAG

In 2018, Nike agreed to partner up with Paris Saint-Germain to provide the Parisian-based football club their official kits up until 2032. That not only means Nike-sponsored kits but also exciting new collaborations with Jordan Brand for the mass public.

PSG is one of Nike’s longest-lasting partnerships, dating back from 1982 with many released apparel that is marked by Jordan Brand as well.

PSG’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated, “This partnership represents a very important milestone for the club and reflects the dreams and aspirations we have for the future of football. This partnership demonstrates Nike’s commitment to stay with us every step of the way for many years to come.”

Recently, PSG and Jordan Brand sneakers have been fairly popular. Almost always getting sold quickly out and reselling for decent profits. The most recent being the PSG Air Jordan 1 Zoom that sold out very quickly and is still selling for gross profits of over $100.

To estimate resale for the PSG Air Jordan 7, let’s head over to some reselling websites. Assessing similar sneakers may give us a good idea of what to expect.

Black outsoles with white Shark Tooth patterns and semi-translucent outsoles complete the design.

How To Buy For Retail

Various sources indicate a release date of March 22nd, however, this has not been confirmed by Nike. The retail price per pair is set at $225 and you can buy them via select retailers and Nike SNKRS.

Estimated Resale Value

These sneakers will likely sell out very quickly and be difficult to cop. Expect decent profits as rumor has it that these AJ7s will be released in limited quantities.

Using my estimated resell value of $340, expect gross profits of over $110 per pair. I’d take this with a grain of salt though as certain information is yet to be confirmed
