Before we estimate resale for the Air Jordan 1 High OG Prototype, let me walk you through a bit of background information.

Air Jordan 1 | Experiments

Air Jordan 1 High Recreation

The Air Jordan 1 is Peter Moore’s masterpiece that changed sneaker culture forever. Some argue that it was even the catalyst for sneaker culture and reselling.

After 1985, Jordan Brand continued to release new silhouettes, however, also continued to release new colorways for their first signature silhouette but rarely experimented.

Colorways, at first, were confined to the Chicago Bulls’ signature hues while later on, Nike started adopting other wilder colors as well. Particularly for women’s sizes, Jordan Brand introduced more colors that would be considered “feminine”.

This year, however, Jordan Brand takes its experimentation to the next level following the Air Jordan 1 Space Hippie that also diverged from the norm towards a more progressive approach.

Along with the “Switch” sneakers that are already available on the secondary markets, the Air Jordan 1 High OG Prototype allows users to switch from a high-top to a low-top design (and vice-versa) simply by removing the collar.

To estimate its resale, let’s head on over to GOAT.

Air Jordan 1 High Switch Light Smoke Grey

  • Retail Price: $175
  • Average Resell: $280
  • Release Date: 2021
  • Colorway: Light Smoke Grey/White

This Air Jordan 1 High, although not officially released yet, has flooded the secondary markets.

Uppers feature a relatively normal color tone with white underlays and Light Smoke Grey Overlays. The difference is the bright yellow zipper that converts the shoe from a high-top to a low-top.

On StockX, the average selling price of these kicks is $280 which is a $100 gross profit. This will likely depreciate with time and as the Air Jordan 1 High OG Prototype is more seamless with its transformation, it will likely be more popular.

Air Jordan 1 High OG Prototype | A Closer Look

  • Retail Price: $170
  • Estimated Resell: $280-$350
  • Release Date: Friday, September 24th, 2021
  • Colorway: White/Multi-Color-Total Orange

While it does feature a removable collar, this Air Jordan 1 High also swaps out a few materials for an updated construction.

Collars feature a dark blue hue with a lighter shaded overlay and black Jordan Wings logo. Nylon tongues come with extra padding, contrasted by orange “Nike Air” branding with matching orange lace ornaments.

The silver side panels and toe boxes are separated by black heel overlays, Swooshes, and Sail scuff guards and eye stays.

White midsoles and black outsoles complete the look.

This Jordan 1’s highlight, however, is its ability to transition from a low-top to a high-top seamlessly without compromising the aesthetic of each form.
