Skip to conclusion for those in a hurry.

OFF-WHITE/Vision from Virgil

Off White History FashionUnited
Via FashionUnited.com

Virgil Abloh is the founder behind this highly revered street-wear brand. He started the company in 2013 based in Milan with a clear vision in mind of what he wanted to do. He studied architecture which possibly gave him some ideas on creative designing.

Today, he has over 15 showroom locations around the globe with clout that is almost unmatched on the street-wear scene. One look at the lateral Zebra Striped pattern on a hoodie, and you’ll know what you’re looking at.

That wasn’t always the case however, far from it. Before starting OFF-WHITE, Virgil opened a company, calling it Pyrex Vision which stirred up a lot of controversy.

The price skimming strategy he used made it popular among celebrities. However, a lot of people accused Virgil of stealing design ideas from Ralph Lauren. Even going as far as accusing him of slapping his name onto Ralph Lauren products.

After closing down the company, he didn’t take too long in returning with another one. After opening OFF-WHITE, it was clear that the company was trying to do something different.

They’d combine street-wear with high quality/premium fashion. Even the name OFF-WHITE describes the grey area between street-wear and high-end.

Nike x OFF-WHITE

OFF-WHITE started collaboration with various brands including Levi’s and Nike. The Nike collaboration saw next level success, especially on the resale market for their limited sneakers.

In September of 2017, as part of “The Ten” collection, the collaboration kicked off with the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1. It was extremely sought after and a must cop for most sneaker-heads. The quality and the design were all on point especially the new “Swoosh”.

The Nike Blazer x OFF-WHITE is also an extremely sought after collection and reminded many of their high school days. Except these had Virgil’s magic touch added to them.

The Ten also had various other original Nike sneakers in the collection such as the Air Max and Air Force. That’s not all however, they’ve continued to drop more sneakers throughout the years.

The OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Jordan 5 and the Dunk line up being the latest ones. To estimate how the Nike Off White Rubber Dunks will do on the resale market. Let’s assess its most similar releases.

Peak Resell: $2,100

Release Date: 12/20/2019

Colorway: University Gold/Midnight Navy

The Dunk collaboration was one for the ages. Everyone wanted a piece of it. This colorway in particular paid homage to the OG collegiate colorways from the “Be True to Your School” program. It represents the university of Michigan.

It features a gold upper with midnight navy overlay. What’s different was the OFF-WHITE Logo and the second lacing system.

Coming to its resale, they’re super profitable and have held up their value pretty well. Prior to release, the average price was around $470 and they’re still hovering around that price.

That’s an average gross profit of $300 per pair. They’ve also been sold for as high as $2,100 with profits over $1,900!

Peak Resell: $2,200

Release date: 12/20/2019

This colorway was also part of the college colors program, representing the school “UNLV”. It’s definitely one of the most popular colorways and looks close to identical.

The sneaker features a red upper and swaps to Wolf Grey overlays instead of white. The grey tongue and red secondary lacing system is also a noticeable deviation from the original.

The resale pretty similar to the University Gold colorway. However, it’s actually risen even more than what it was right before release date.

The average price on StockX is around $533 which is an average profit of $360 before tax and service fees. At peak resale, profits are as high as $2,030!

Colorway: White/Pine Green

This is perhaps the most sought after colorway out of the trio as it was a gift to Skateboarder Stevie Williams. This colorway was not part of Nike’s colors program, it debuted back in 2003 as a normal new colorway.

They feature a Pine Green upper with white overlay and a red secondary lacing system. A white mid-sole and green out-sole finishes off the design.

The Pine Green colorway is the most profitable of the trio as expected and sell for an average price of $600. That’s an average profit before tax and service fee of over $400. Had you sold these at peak resale, Profits are over $1,600.

Judging by these colorways, I’d say cop the Nike Off White Rubber Dunks should definitely be a no-brainer.

Release Date: 10/01/2020

Colorway: University Gold/University Blue/Green Strike

Releasing in 3 colorways, these have an updated drop on the 1st of October for $180.

Initially previewed at the Paris fashion Week, the 3 colorways are known as University Gold, University Blue and Strike Green. Each pair being unique to any silhouette before it.

The sneakers are a fusion of past and present aesthetics and design. It fuses Nike’s P-6000’s upper with the classic Nike Dunk’s sole unit. The overall silhouette appears to be more of a skateboarder’s sneaker than anything else.

The first pair University Blue, features a Grey upper with Blue hits throughout. Blue laces and a tan sole finishes off the design.

The Strike Green features striking neon green highlights over a jet-black upper. A black mid-sole with a green Air Unit and green out-sole finishes off the design.

Resale Value

As assessed above with similar Off-White x Nike sneakers. I believe the Nike Off White Rubber Dunk trio will be super lucrative if you cop them at retail. The Dunk Lows prove how much they’re sought after and I believe the Nike Off White Rubber Dunks won’t be too far off.

As for the most profitable of the bunch, the University Blue looks to be the hottest among fans.

Nike-Off-White-University-Blue-Rubber-Dunk-StockX-Bids
From StockX

The highest bids for the Nike Off White Rubber Dunk University Blue are already around $500. That’s the highest out of the trio and I expect these will stay the most profitable. I believe the resale for these will be around $450 after release date.

To get your money back after service fees and taxes, you’ll need to sell each pair for around $215. Thus by using my estimated resale value, I expect profits of around $235 for the University blue.

The other two colorways might sell a bit lower at around $400. Thus I expect profits of around $185 per pair.

Where to Cop

They’ll be dropping on the 1st of October for $180 each at select retailers and Nike.com.

If you fail to cop, you can get them from reseller websites such as StockX and GOAT for resale prices. I suggest investing in a bot as it might turn out to be very profitable for you.

Drops like this happen often and you wouldn’t want to miss out.
