First up, the Jordan 4 Retro Fire Red (2020)

Jordan Brand revisited an iconic colorway with the Air Jordan 4 Fire Red (2020).

This release returns in its original form with “Nike Air” branded heels, making it the first time this colorway has retroed in this variation since its debut in 1989.

This Jordan 4 consists of a white leather upper with black and Fire Red detailing. Rubber netted underlays, black heel tabs with “Nike Air” branding, and black with fire red midsoles completes this design.

These sneakers released on November 28th of 2020 and retailed for $200.

The Air Jordan 4 was the second chapter in what would be a long novel of one-of-a-kind creations from Tinker Hatfield engineered for no one other than Michael Jordan.

The AJ4 would headline the 1988-1989 season in which Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were just one series win short of reaching their first NBA Finals appearance with his Airness at the helm.

This Jordan 4 releases in what I would call a very ‘wearable’ colorway.

Black, red, and white can go with almost anything. Not to mention the fact that the Jordan 4 itself is a very durable shoe, appropriate for almost all weather.

This sneaker’s value is relayed in the resell market breakdown. On StockX alone, the Air Jordan 4 Fire Red (2020) has a price premium of 56.7% and an average resale price of $266.

With a $200 price tag on a retail day – a $30-$40 profit isn’t terrible. It’s these kinds of profits that as a reseller you will need to learn how to stack up and multiply!

Next up, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 380 Onyx

The YEEZY BOOST 380 Onyx features an upper composed of multitoned re-engineered Primeknit in a sock-like construction, providing a snug yet adaptable fit.

The translucent filament window is woven into the upper, adding visual interest and breathability. This model features stretch laces with silicone closure for easy on and off wear and comes equipped with a second set of standard laces.

A reengineered full-length BOOST midsole elevates the cushioning experience, offering optimal comfort where consumers need it most.

The rubber outsole offers unique design cues and improved traction.

As we’ve discussed time and time again – it’s finally reached the point where Yeezy needs to innovate. We’ve seen the same models over and over again with slightly different colorways. This worked in 2017-2019, but no longer.

Resellers are finally seeing the repercussions of essentially the same sneaker re-releasing. As we’ve seen resell prices gradually decrease – we’ve all been waiting for Kanye to finally say, “Let’s change it up.”

But unfortunately, that change has yet to be seen. Back to the Yeezy 380 Onyx, where the resell values are shaky. With 60+ sales on the StockX Marketplace, the sneaker has racked up a measly price premium of 13.5% and an average resale price of $265.

Combine the lack of creativity from Yeezy and a sneaker that we have essentially seen before – you don’t get great resell value. But even if you did cop a pair, you should come out with minimal loss if you are able to sell locally.

This information is so valuable to up and coming resellers who are still learning how to determine what sneakers will sell for high.

Finally, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro Bruce Lee Alternate

While Kobe may not be with us anymore, his legacy lives on through sneakers.

The “Bruce Lee” draws directly from Lee’s jumpsuit in Enter the Dragon, mixing yellow and black tones on its upper. Touches of red appear on both the heel and forefoot, the latter of which features four red slash marks for a clever nod to the injuries Lee sustained during the course of the movie.

On the other hand, the “Bruce Lee Alternate” uses a white and black color scheme with just a pop of yellow on the heel and red trim around the midfoot Swoosh. Red slashes remain on the forefoot, and both styles feature silver sheath logos on the tongues.

From a tech standpoint, each differentiates itself from the original Kobe 5 by using a modern foam compound in the midsole for a softer feel and Zoom Air units that are 50% larger for extra responsiveness.

Apart from the obvious tribute to Kobe, these technological enhancements may explain why the Kobe 5 Proto was so popular in the NBA bubble, spotted on the feet of everyone from the Lakers’ Anthony Davis to the Miami Heat‘s Tyler Herro and Andre Iguodala.

In terms of resale for the Nike Kobe 5 Protro Bruce Lee Alternate, we’ve seen some decent numbers. WIth 90+ sales on StockX, the sneaker has racked up a price premium of 45% and an average resale price of $328.
